SpringHill Suites Tempe, 5211 S. Priest Drive, Tempe, Arizona Job Description A Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. Duties and Expectations Happy Guests Guest Relations: Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile. Name Use: Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed. Guest Satisfaction: Work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores. Recovery: Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency. Hotel Knowledge: Have strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities. Events: Be aware of and support all groups and events at the hotel. Technology: Understand relevant technology for each role. Phone Etiquette: Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting. Spotless Cleanliness Sparkling Clean Workspaces: Keep all areas front and back of the house clean and well‑organized. Pitching In: Assist in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces as needed to ensure a clean and safe hotel. Hospitality While Cleaning: Greet guests happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning. Product Consistency & Quality Checklists to 100% Accuracy: Complete all operational checklists accurately and at designated times, every shift. Shift Handover Reports: Provide accurate and on‑time handover reports for effective shift communication. Flawless Uniform: Wear a clean, approved uniform, be well‑groomed per the Team Member Handbook, wear a nametag and smile at all times. Teamwork Communication: Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally. Can‑Do Attitude: Willingly stretch beyond the traditional role to meet business and guest needs. Collaboration: Commit to working together to create a welcoming environment for guests and a positive workplace. Housekeeper Specific Duties and Expectations Pre‑Cleaning and Stocking: Complete all pre‑cleaning duties including stocking room supplies and tools, attending morning stand‑up meetings, folding or assisting with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room. Clean and Stock Rooms: Thoroughly clean and restock the required number of guest rooms as assigned per shift. Additional Cleaning Projects: As assigned by direct supervisor, in storage rooms, public spaces, guest laundry, room deep cleaning activities, as needed. Keep front and back of house areas organized and clean. Success Metrics Happy Guests: Management performance ratings, guest satisfaction scores/intent to return. Spotless Cleanliness: GM/AGM spot checks, leadership walk‑throughs, guest ratings/reviews. Product Consistency & Quality: Checklist tracking, management performance ratings, guest ratings. Teamwork: Management performance ratings. Qualifications & Requirements Experience in hospitality, service, consumer‑facing franchise or related field preferred. Can‑Do Attitude: Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to Follow Guidelines: Understand and follow established guidelines and procedures. Handle Pace and Pressure: Work well in stressful, high‑pressure situations. Listening, Conflict Resolution: Effectively listen, understand, clarify, and resolve concerns raised by coworkers and guests. Communication Skills: Convey information and ideas clearly. Hospitality and Guest Service: Desire to serve all guests. Age Requirement: 18 years of age or older. Schedule and Travel: Willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on hotel demands. Clock‑in/Out: Arrive and clock in on time for every shift; clock out at scheduled shift ending time; never work while off the clock. Breaks: Clock in/out for breaks at designated times. Call Outs: Provide sufficient notice as directed by supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift. Physical Working Demands & Working Environment Stooping: Bending body downward and forward at waist, requiring use of lower extremities and back muscles. Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles using feet, legs, and/or hands and arms. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to rest on one or both knees. Crawling: Moving on hands and knees or hands and feet. Standing: Remaining upright on feet for sustained periods. Walking: Moving on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or between work sites. Repetitive Motions: Making substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
