A commercial carpenter constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures, fixtures, and frameworks in commercial buildings using wood, metal studs, and steel. They work on large-scale projects like offices, retail, and industrial sites, performing rough framing, installing drywall, doors, hardware, and trim while adhering to strict blueprints and safety codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural Framing: Build and install metal stud walls, wood joists, trusses, and scaffolding.
• Finish Carpentry: Install cabinetry, trim, molding, doors, hardware, and countertops.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and layouts.
• Material Prep: Cut, shape, and fasten materials like wood, steel, plastic, and fiberglass.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA safety standards, maintain a clean site, and use PPE.
