About the Role

Maybridge Development LLC is preparing to provide program and project management services to the USDA Forest Service in support of Hurricane Helene recovery efforts across the National Forests in North Carolina.

We are building a team of Project Managers who want to do meaningful work that leaves a lasting impact. This is an opportunity to be part of restoring public lands, strengthening local communities, and supporting the long-term recovery of forests and infrastructure affected by Hurricane Helene.

Projects may include roadway and trail repairs, bridge and culvert replacements, recreation site restoration, facility repairs, hazard tree mitigation, watershed stabilization, and other infrastructure recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene.

Working alongside USDA Forest Service personnel, contractors, and partner agencies, you'll spend time throughout some of North Carolina's most beautiful national forests while helping coordinate projects that serve the public for generations to come. As a Federal Disaster Recovery Project Manager , you'll plan, coordinate, and manage assigned recovery projects to ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with federal quality and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned recovery projects from planning through closeout, including scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, budget tracking, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain project documentation, including project registers, risk logs, stakeholder engagement logs, meeting minutes, and weekly and monthly status reports.
• Coordinate with USDA Forest Service Staff Officers, partner agencies, consultants, and contractor teams to support successful project delivery.
• Attend twice-weekly in-person coordination meetings at the USDA Forest Service Supervisor's Office in Asheville.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of Project Management Plans, the USDA Forest Service FSM 2030 Large-Scale Event Recovery Framework, project documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct field visits throughout National Forest districts, including travel on unpaved and remote forest roads.
• Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track while maintaining compliance with federal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional project management experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects with demonstrated success in scheduling, risk management, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and reporting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal Tier 1 or Tier 2 Background Investigation.
• Ability to attend twice-weekly meetings in Asheville and travel throughout western North Carolina.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and other project management software.
• Applicants should have access to a reliable four-wheel-drive or high-clearance vehicle suitable for travel on unpaved forest roads. Business-use automobile insurance is recommended. Routine travel within the assigned service area is considered part of the position and is reflected in the salary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting the USDA Forest Service or another federal land management agency.
• Experience with disaster recovery programs, including FEMA Public Assistance (PA), CDBG-DR, USACE, or similar federally funded recovery initiatives.
• Familiarity with the USDA Forest Service FSM 2030 Large-Scale Event Recovery Framework.
• FEMA ICS/NIMS certifications.
• Experience using Survey123, ArcGIS, or other GIS applications.
• Residency in western North Carolina is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $85,000–$90,000 , based on experience, certifications, and relevant federal project experience. Placement within the salary range will be based on qualifications, certifications, and demonstrated success managing federal or disaster recovery projects.

Routine travel throughout the National Forests in North Carolina service area is included in the salary. Mileage reimbursement is provided only for approved travel beyond the normal duty area or daily commute.
