What You’ll Do

As a Consultant, you'll partner with clients to develop and implement impactful strategies that drive value across people, processes, and technology. You’ll work directly with clients to design solutions, create roadmaps, and deliver high-quality results, building deep relationships and positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.

While this role primarily focuses on program management, our consultants may also contribute to a diverse range of projects. We believe in harnessing your unique expertise to elevate every project, even if it diverges from your primary focus. With solid skills in project management, change management, and process improvement, you’ll transition between assignments, bringing fresh ideas and strategic thinking to each project.

Drive Strategic Alignment

• Lead operational transformation initiatives by assessing current-state processes, operating models, roles, and ways of working to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, clarity, and business impact.

• Design future-state operating models that align organizational structure, governance, decision rights, capabilities, and processes to strategic priorities.

• Drive strategic planning initiatives by evaluating organizational capabilities, business needs, and opportunities and translating insights into actionable recommendations.

• Use data and business insights to diagnose operational challenges, evaluate options, develop recommendations, and measure transformation outcomes.

• Prioritize and align initiatives with business goals, helping leaders focus resources on the work that drives the greatest value

Deliver High Impact Projects

• Translate strategy into execution by developing practical roadmaps, implementation plans, governance structures, and workstreams that move organizations from current state to future state.

• Manage end-to-end project execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and against intended business outcomes.

• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce redundancies, and improve operational performance.

• Collaborate with project teams to define adoption strategies and rollout plans that support successful implementation and stakeholder buy-in.

• Create executive-ready deliverables such as operating model designs, transformation roadmaps, process maps, governance frameworks, business cases, and implementation plans.

Build Stakeholder Relationships

• Build and nurture strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, establishing trust and credibility.

• Anticipate stakeholder needs, proactively address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction through high-touch engagement.

• Leverage stakeholder engagement to spot emerging needs and areas where Propeller can add value, fostering potential for future projects.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Must have:

• 10+ years of operational transformation, project management, business analysis, change management, and/or management consulting experience, including at least 3 years of experience at a management consulting firm

• Demonstrated experience assessing and transforming business operations, including processes, operating models, organizational roles, governance, and ways of working

• Experience designing or implementing future-state operating models that align people, processes, capabilities, governance, and organizational structure to business strategy

• Experience translating strategy into execution through transformation roadmaps, implementation plans, process improvements, and/or large-scale initiatives

• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills

• Experience with waterfall and/or agile project management techniques in complex environments

• Bachelor’s degree

• Ability to travel based on client need (up to 25%)

• Ability to demonstrate a legal right to work in the U.S.

• Certified project management professional and/or relevant certifications/education

• Experience leading and managing teams

More About This Opportunity

Compensation: We believe in fairly and equitably compensating our employees for their time, skills, and experience. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $128,000 to $146,850. Individual offers are determined based on factors including relevant experience, specific skill sets, marketability to clients, and internal pay equity. The full salary range for this position is $128,000 to $157,000, with employees having the opportunity to progress within the range over time. Base pay ranges are reviewed annually.

This role is also eligible for a bonus, targeted between 5-10% of base salary, based on individual and company performance. Our compensation plan also includes a competitive benefits package, which you can learn more about here.

Location: We believe being physically present with each other, and our clients, strengthens our relationships, promotes creativity and innovation, and ultimately produces a stronger, more durable result for our clients and ourselves. Propeller consultants typically work in a hybrid model, spending a portion of their week working from their client site, local Propeller office, and home. In some cases, consultants work full-time at their client sites. Exact schedules vary by client engagement. Applicants should currently live in the area where the job is posted or plan to relocate upon hire.

Travel: We strive to keep consultants rooted in their local community, minimizing out-of-market travel. This is balanced with an all-firm staffing model and a desire to accommodate growing client demand for in-person work. While some travel may be necessary, it is capped at 25% for this role. We prioritize a tailored approach to travel, taking into consideration individual preferences in project assignments.
