AP/AR Specialist Opportunity

Wood Personnel Services is partnering with a manufacturing company in Smyrna, TN to hire an AP/AR Specialist. This position is responsible for supporting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, helping ensure accurate financial transactions, timely collections, and efficient vendor payments. AP/AR Specialist Compensation & Benefits:

• $23.00-$25.00/hour DOE
• Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
• First-shift schedule
• Benefits package available

AP/AR Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices from receipt through payment
• Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system
• Investigate and resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies
• Generate customer invoices and post customer payments
• Process ACH, credit card, lockbox, and check payments
• Perform customer credit checks and establish payment terms
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances
• Communicate with customers regarding payment status and account inquiries
• Maintain accurate financial records and support general ledger accuracy
• Assist with day-to-day accounting activities and administrative functions as needed

AP/AR Specialist Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Experience handling both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
• ERP system experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Dependable attendance and professional communication skills
