MBP COMPLIANCE ANALYST, INVESTIGATIONS NON NURSE INVESTIGATOR (FULL-TIME CONTRACTUAL)

Overview Full‑time contract position within the Maryland Board of Nursing. The role primarily develops and oversees complaints to the Board concerning potential breaches of nursing practice standards and violations of the Nurse Practice Act. It is an essential component of the Board’s mission to protect the public. Location MDH Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON), 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. Responsibilities Knowledge of general acceptable standards of health care procedures and policies. Exceptional research and organizational skills. Effective communication with patients, professionals, other health care workers, and the public. Knowledge of health‑care principles, practices, and procedures. Present recommendations clearly and concisely. Exercise independent judgment and discretion regarding assigned tasks. Communicate effectively with co‑workers and staff of other agencies. Prepare and present reports or recommendations clearly and concisely. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience conducting investigations in health care, insurance, medical malpractice, or other related investigative areas as defined by the Maryland Board of Physicians. Alternative: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university plus one year of relevant investigative experience; or U.S. Armed Forces military service as a commissioned officer in Legal or Investigator functions on a year‑for‑year basis. Desired or Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with computer, information technology, and data security tools. Experience assessing accurate documentation and record‑keeping. Ability to independently plan, organize, and execute assigned tasks. Benefits Contractual employees working at least 30 hours per week (or an average of 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and eligible dependents. The State of Maryland subsidizes 75% of premiums; employees pay 25%. Employees can also elect dental, accident, and life insurance, paying the full premiums. Leave may be granted at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
