Engineering Manager – Advice AI, AWMT Advice Superfamily The AWMT Advice Superfamily consists of Discretionary Advice Platform (DAP), Financial Planning Journeys (FPJ), and Advice AI. This role seeks an engineering leader who thrives in architecture debates, mentor teams, and build reliable, scalable systems that support advisory experiences across digital, hybrid, and partner channels. Discretionary Advice Platform (DAP) Platform owners the full stack (Angular, TypeScript, Node.js): micro-frontends, design system components, event‑driven backends, API platforms, and data pipelines. Responsibilities include turning complex financial domain logic into composable services for onboarding, portfolio management, goal‑based planning, money movement orchestration, and shared capabilities. Financial Planning Journeys (FPJ) – Team Tetris Full‑stack team that connects advised clients with financial professionals through the Designated Point of Contact (DPOC) platform. Uses Angular, Preact, Node.js, TypeScript, Java, and multi‑region AWS services. Focuses on reliability, observability, and clean architecture while modernizing the contact experience. Advice AI Newly formed group focused on AI‑driven advice. Drives the flagship Client Assist capability, integrating conversational AI into the Digital Advisor offer using LLM context engineering and AI‑exposed APIs. As Engineering Manager, you will coach engineers on modern AI‑augmented development practices, influence technical direction, and shape the evolution of engineering standards. Core Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, establishing performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback. Conduct performance reviews and make compensation decisions aligned with Human Resources policies. Own team outcomes, prioritizing work, managing risks, and ensuring timely, reliable delivery. Engage meaningfully with the team’s work, guide solution design, support engineering decision‑making, and review technical approaches. Foster a culture of learning, adaptability, and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation and reflection. Maintain healthy team dynamics, effective collaboration, and clear working agreements and sustainable rhythms. Identify and resolve impediments that affect delivery, quality, or team effectiveness, escalating complex issues to IT experts as needed. Partner closely with product leaders, technical leaders, and business stakeholders to clarify priorities and align expectations. Promote high standards of engineering quality, including reliability, scalability, and performance. Reinforce sound development and testing practices and participate in departmental planning, staffing discussions, and operational initiatives. Contribute to improving engineering practices and organizational effectiveness, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 8 years of experience in IT project management, software development, or IT service delivery. Previous leadership experience required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications preferred. Strong expertise in IT project management, Agile methodologies, and SDLC best practices with experience in IT infrastructure, software development, and enterprise IT solutions. Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, ECS, Kubernetes, Kornet, AI, Android, and iOS development. Risk management, budgeting, and IT governance skills, including understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and IT compliance standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience developing LLM‑based systems and ancillary technologies (e.g., LangGraph, AWS Bedrock, RAG, Arize) is a plus.
