Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner - School Based Health Program

Job Title

This position, based in Ingraham High School, will provide direct clinical care to the teens in that school.

Job Duties

The duties include providing education on a variety of health topics to student groups in a classroom setting in collaboration with school staff, promoting the services of the school-based health clinic in various venues on campus, maintaining and auditing the clinic's pharmacy inventory, performing point of care labs, collecting and packaging specimens for off-site lab testing, administering vaccines, performing physical examinations and assessments, ordering and/or performing diagnostic and screening tests, documenting clinical care provided in electronic health record, ensuring quality of professional practice by practicing within professional, legal, and ethical standards, acting as a consultant to health care team, performing pelvic exams, diagnosing STDs, prescribing and managing contraceptive methods, assessing pregnancy gestation, providing counseling and referrals for all pregnancy options, and other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Requirements include Washington State license as a Registered Nurse, a graduate level nursing degree, license to practice in the State of Washington as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Washington State license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority, completion of advanced practitioner training and board certification as a nurse practitioner within the specialty practice, National Provider Identification (NPI) number, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration, documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a care team and with a diverse and multi-cultural patient panels, valid Washington State driver's license or ability to travel to site, and Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.
