Sr Workday IT Engineer

We’re looking for a highly skilled Workday IT professional to drive innovation across our Workday ecosystem. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions across security, integrations, reporting, and application development. Key Responsibilities Lead Workday Security (RBAC, SoD, SOX compliance, audits, IAM integrations) Design and develop integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, and APIs (REST/SOAP) Build and enhance applications with Workday Extend Create advanced reports and dashboards using BIRT & Report Writer Manage business process orchestration and automation Provide production support and drive continuous improvements Primary Duties Assists in the design and development and testing of software applications. Resolves day-to-day incidents to assure the integrity of the services being provided. Consume, transform and update data between two or more systems using integration software. Consults with business partner to identify and define software application needs. Analyzes requests for changes, updates or modifications to new or existing software applications and makes recommendations for designs to meet client specifications. Consults with business partners to create documentation relating to the program definition, development, and business requirements. Documentation includes software objectives, deliverables, and end user specifications. Mentors and provides technical direction, leadership, guidance and support for application developers and other IT staff, helping maintain the system and meet SLAs to provide data to the users. Writes, translates, and codes software programs and applications according to specifications and end user requirements. Prepares system, contextual and infrastructure diagrams needed in application development and analysis. Trains end users to operate new or modified programs, reporting tools and analytics. Prepares and writes reports for management or team members on the status of assignments. Works with end users regarding systems analysis, general systems design and detail systems design. Works independently to keep abreast of new and changing technological advances in program languages, utilities, tools, and client/server technology to assure achievement of optimum results. Follows IT procedures and naming conventions guidance, providing proper documentation as required by IT standards. What We’re Looking For 10+ years of Workday technical experience Strong expertise in Security, Studio/Integrations, Extend, and Reporting Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, APIs Knowledge of SOX, IAM (e.g., SailPoint), and enterprise integrations Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have Workday certifications Experience with Prism, Azure, or automation tools Background supporting HCM, Finance, or Payroll modules Minimum Requirements & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Business or a closely related field and four years of experience in software programming. Communication Skills: ability to communicate, persuade, and/or influence internal and external business partners at a high level. Numeric Skills: ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, and simple statistical methods.
