Distributor Sales Rep. Outside

Distributor Sales Representative – Outside (outside the workplace) position is to sell food products and supplies to food service establishments and to meet or exceed sales goals. The role requires use of your own vehicle to travel to customer locations within the assigned territory. The sales representative is responsible for compiling new prospective customer lists, researching potential leads, and managing their own daily activities to optimize sales performance. Sales Territory: Farmington, NM. Job Responsibilities Conduct routine visits to customer sites to ensure purchasing levels are adequate for existing products. Share information about additional products with customers to optimize sales. Discuss outstanding issues with the customer to ensure satisfaction. Research newspapers, business directories, and other sources for potential client leads. Perform networking activities to obtain referrals. Make calls to potential customers to expand the customer base within assigned territory. Complete required administrative functions to ensure sales data and percentages are accurate. Perform collection duties to keep customer accounts current. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field preferred; equivalent sales experience acceptable. At least three years of recent foodservice sales experience selling to restaurants for a major food service distributor. Must have no more than three driving violations or a DUI conviction in the last three years and meet automobile insurance requirements. Good computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to learn and use relevant internal applications. Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to sales, commissions, discounts, and volume. Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and teamwork skills. Strong multitasking, time-management, organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities. Customer focused and enthusiastic self-starter with a strong work ethic. Valid driver’s license for the state of operation. Must pass required drug and physical screening.
