Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift consists of three 12-hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while actively participating in patient rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, establishing an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and work collaboratively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in weekly team conferences, providing timely and accurate patient information.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to maintain continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing staff, promoting a safe and positive work environment.
• Maintain adherence to hospital safety policies and procedures.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as required post-orientation.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for specific units).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
