Job Description

This position involves gathering and testing samples within a specified timeframe, entering results into SAP, and storing retains as required. You will maintain comprehensive, accurate, and legible test records in accordance with company policy and record-keeping procedures. Additionally, you will perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks for both the laboratory environment and testing equipment, assist with minor laboratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, and support customer pre-ship sample order requests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete, accurate, and legible test records.

• Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks for the laboratory and equipment.

• Assist with minor laboratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.

• Support customer pre-ship sample order requests.

• Prepare and ship samples for external laboratory testing.

• Conduct testing and analysis for special projects and nonconforming product investigations.

• Fill laboratory shift vacancies as needed.

• Assist with maintaining and updating laboratory procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.

• Entry-level or new graduates are welcome.

• Must be a humble team player with a willingness to help when needed.

• Attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask.

• Familiarity with quality control and laboratory processes.

• Understanding of GMP, quality assurance, chemistry, biology, titration, viscosity, pH, HPLC, GCMS.

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

• Experience with statistical analysis.

• Strong computer skills with word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Experience with wet chemistry and various laboratory instrumentation such as Braebender, AntonPaar, Variomax, and Bruker NIR.

• Familiarity with general lab tasks such as pH measurement, moisture balance, analytical balances, pipettes, volumetric measures, ovens, stir plates, mixers, and warming plates.

Work Environment

The role is based at the North Kansas City site and requires performing analytical tests independently and accurately as per test procedures. The position includes fulfilling customer sample order requests according to current procedures. Paid training is provided, with initial training occurring during the day from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, for the first two months. The schedule involves 12-hour shifts from 7 pm to 7 am, rotating weekly, and includes working on holidays as the facility operates 24/7. There are two people working on the night shift. Monthly performance reviews are conducted. Personal protective equipment such as goggles, steel-toed boots, and gloves are required, and a helmet is necessary when on the plant floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
