The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.Status: Per DiemShift: DAY SHIFTDepartment: SN Family Medicine Position SummarySummary: The Staff Psychologist is responsible for helping implement the behavioral science—psychosocial medicine portion of our ACGME-fully accredited, three-year graduate medical education curriculum in family medicine. The primary responsibilities are direct psychosocial precepting of family medicine residents in live patient encounters that are recorded and subsequently reviewed with individual residents, providing monthly didactics, and delivering high quality, effective behavioral health services to patients using evidence-based, person-centered practice interventions as needed. The position also requires participation in faculty development education and scholarly activity which can take a variety of forms. The individual may also be called upon to mentor a resident performance improvement project, interview applicants, and conduct surveys as needed. The staff psychologist will join two current resident faculty psychologists and a physician faculty of five Board-certified, experienced family medicine physician-educators. The individual must have excellent organizational and communication skills, provide accurate and timely documentation, work well on a team, and have excellent customer service and critical thinking skills. The staff psychologist must complete the hospital’s orientation and receive an appointment to Mount Sinai South Nassau’s medical staff, and an academic appointment to the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
