Commercial Vehicle Inspection Specialist

Under the close supervision of the Sidewinder Platform Scale Supervisor, the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Specialist is responsible for the inspection and weighing of commercial vehicles in accordance with Departmental policies and procedures and to assist the traffic officer on duty by alerting the officer to all observed violations. To ensure effective performance of these responsibilities, the CVIS shall possess a current knowledge of commercial vehicle laws and regulations. Inspections are completed outdoors under various weather and environmental conditions. The appropriate safety and personal protective equipment shall be worn at all times.

Working Conditions
