Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Summary:
The ICU Clinical Nurse provides expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and a collaborative approach to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role emphasizes patient safety, family engagement, and continuous quality improvement within the ICU setting.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by applying nursing theories, research, and organizational standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on health management, transition of care, and disease prevention.
• Promote safety and quality by adhering to best practices, escalating hazards, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead shift activities, coordinate resources, and ensure timely documentation as per regulatory and hospital standards.
• Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and families, demonstrating empathy, respect, and active listening.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification are required.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU, critical care, or telemetry nursing experience.
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; associate degree considered with relevant experience or ongoing education.
• Ability to work a 3x12 schedule, including every other weekend and variable shifts.
