Pediatric Newborn Nursery Hospitalist - Physician - Mount Sinai West - Manhattan, NY

Job Description

We are recruiting an energetic, clinically oriented Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team at Mount Sinai West. The successful applicant should have a strong interest in clinical service and medical education. Hospitalists receive education through simulation for competency at delivery room attendance and regular education on Clinical Practice Guidelines as they relate to newborn care. They also have the opportunity to participate in quality improvement research projects.

Mount Sinai West has an active delivery service with over 5,000 babies born at Mount Sinai West each year and the average daily census in the nursery is 20-30.

This is an excellent opportunity both for career hospitalists and for recent residency graduates considering future training in newborn medicine.

Responsibilities

• Attendance at deliveries
• Well-baby nursery care (including circumcisions and identifying newborns who need a higher level of care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
• Providing well-baby education to families on a shift-based schedule

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited program.
• Successful completion of a 3-year Pediatric ACGME approved residency program.
• New York State Medical License.
• Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics.
• Meet eligibility requirements for an appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Compensation range from 160K to 210K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
