Senior Indirect Tax Manager - Automation & Compliance (Hybrid NYC)

Summary The Tax Manager 6 Indirect Tax is a senior individual contributor responsible for managing day-to-day indirect tax compliance, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic tax initiatives. This role partners with the Tax Director and cross-functional teams to oversee multi-jurisdictional filings, audits, and tax system implementations in a hybrid capacity based in Tribeca, New York. Responsibilities Manage preparation and reconciliation of indirect tax schedules, including sales and use tax, personal property tax, and commercial rent tax Oversee timely and accurate filing of indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions using manual processes and tax automation software Act as primary liaison to the Tax Director and support execution of key tax priorities and initiatives Support indirect tax audits by preparing documentation and coordinating with external auditors and jurisdictions Drive process improvements and identify opportunities for automation and optimization of tax technology (e.g., Vertex) Lead tax system implementations, enhancements, and integrations with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) Research and interpret changes in tax legislation and assess impacts for the Finance team Manage business licenses, registrations, and resolution of tax notices across jurisdictions Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax with strong focus on sales and use tax Strong knowledge of multi-state indirect tax regulations and compliance requirements Experience with tax automation tools (e.g., Vertex) and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) Proven ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Demonstrated ownership of processes and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset #J-18808-Ljbffr brobstongroup.com - Jobboard
