Details Work on the Med/Surg unit at a hospital in Atlanta, GA Care for a complex medical patient population including complicated UTI, pneumonia, sepsis, trachs, PEGs, peritoneal dialysis, altered mental status, and pancreatitis Unit functions as a research unit for approximately 14 days per month, with the remainder dedicated to complex medicine Research component may include a flu challenge study involving healthy patients monitored for symptoms Schedule consists of 3x12-hour AM shifts totaling 36 hours per week No on-call responsibilities Requirements Active Georgia or Compact RN license required in hand Minimum of 18 months of RN experience required Strong Med/Surg skills required Experience with trach care, NIHSS, IV starts, and PICC lines required Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care for medically complex cases, including trach management, PEG care, and peritoneal dialysis May participate in research protocols, including monitoring patients enrolled in study-related procedures Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted Former Emory or Houston permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning to the health system, or 18 months if returning to the same facility RTO requests are limited, with stricter limits applied around holidays American Traveler Job ID P-740892.
