The Deputy Director of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault & Community Engagement Programs provides operational leadership and management support for all agency programs serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Greater Prince William. Working under the direction of the Director, this position oversees daily program operations, supervises staff, ensures high-quality trauma-informed, survivor-centered services, leads community education and prevention initiatives, and supports grant compliance, program evaluation, and strategic community partnerships. The Deputy Director serves as the operational leader for the department, oversees ACTS' domestic violence and sexual assault prevention and outreach efforts, and acts on behalf of the Director during their absence to ensure continuity of services. Reports to: Director of Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assault Services Hours per week and Schedule: 40 hours; Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm FLSA Classification: Exempt Telework Friendly: Yes Driving required: Yes; Personal vehiclerequired: Yes Location: Dumfries, VA Effective Date: 7/1/2026 Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises assigned domestic violence and sexual assault program staff. Assists with recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management. Conducts regular supervision meetings and supports employee development. Assists with scheduling, staffing coordination, and operational coverage. Oversees community education, outreach, volunteer, and internship activities assigned. Serves as Acting Director during the Director's absence. Essential Job Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Assists the Director in overseeing daily operations of domestic violence and sexual assault programs. Ensures services are trauma-informed, survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and aligned with agency standards and best practices. Provides day-to-day operational leadership and supervision of program staff. Assists with implementation and evaluation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, and service delivery models. Monitors program quality and support continuous quality improvement initiatives. Provides consultation and guidance on complex or high-risk client cases. Supports coordination of multidisciplinary responses involving law enforcement, healthcare providers, courts, and community partners. Assists with monitoring departmental budgets and expenditures in collaboration with the Director and Finance. Supports grant administration, reporting, monitoring, and compliance activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements, including VOCA, VAWA, FVPSA, and other grant requirements. Reviews program documentation to ensure compliance with agency policies and funding requirements. Oversee program data collection, quality assurance, and reporting processes. Uses program data to identify trends, improve service delivery, and support grant reporting. Assists with preparation of reports for agency leadership and funders. Serves as a spokesperson for agency programs as needed. Represents the agency on community committees, multidisciplinary teams, public forums, schools, healthcare organizations, and collaborative initiatives assigned. Leads the development and implementation of community education, prevention, and outreach initiatives that increase awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, healthy relationships, consent, bystander intervention, and available ACTS services. Develops and delivers educational presentations, workshops, and trainings for schools, colleges, businesses, healthcare providers, faith communities, civic organizations, and community partners. Coordinates outreach activities during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and other public awareness campaigns. Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with schools, businesses, healthcare providers, law enforcement, community organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen prevention efforts and increase access to ACTS services. Develops outreach strategies to engage underserved populations and expand community awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault resources. Oversees the development and distribution of educational materials, outreach resources, brochures, presentations, and digital content to ensure information is current, accurate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Tracks outreach activities, community engagement, and prevention outcomes, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting grant reporting requirements. Collaborates with advocacy staff to ensure appropriate referrals and seamless access to services for community members. Supports development and delivery of staff training, volunteer training, and professional development activities. Promotes best practices in advocacy, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, prevention education, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Completes 40 hours of domestic violence and sexual assault intervention training (provided by ACTS during the first year) and other required internal and external training. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, victim advocacy, trauma-informed care, and survivor-centered practices. Knowledge of community education, violence prevention, and public awareness strategies. Knowledge of federal and state grant requirements, including VOCA, VAWA, and FVPSA. Strong supervisory, coaching, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and oversee day-to-day program operations. Knowledge of quality assurance, documentation standards, and program compliance. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, public speaking, and presentation skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships with schools, healthcare providers, businesses, community organizations, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience developing educational materials and facilitating training for diverse audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems. Preferred Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities: Experience working within Coordinated Community Response (CCR) models. Experience with program evaluation and continuous quality improvement. Experience with grant administration and compliance monitoring. Experience developing and implementing community education, prevention, or outreach initiatives. Experience planning and coordinating public awareness campaigns and community engagement strategies. Experience facilitating staff training, professional development, and community education programs. Public speaking and community engagement experience. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Public Administration, Education, Public Health, Communications, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in domestic violence, sexual assault, victim services, prevention education, or related human services. Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience. Experience managing grant-funded programs and ensuring regulatory compliance. Demonstrated experience supervising multidisciplinary teams. Experience developing and delivering community education, prevention, or outreach initiatives. Certification or training in domestic violence or sexual assault advocacy preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within Coordinated Community Response (CCR) models. Experience with Risk Identification and Screening, Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) collaboration, High-Risk Case Review, Safety Planning, Information Sharing Protocols, and Offender Accountability strategies. Experience working with law enforcement, courts, healthcare systems, or community coalitions. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Office-based leadership position with routine travel to program sites and community meetings. Frequent interaction with staff, clients, community partners, and funding agencies. Attendance at evening or weekend meetings, training, and community events. May provide leadership support during emergency or high-risk situations.
