Summary To understand the processes involving micro‑organisms in food with the goal of improving food production and increasing food safety in the following ways. Duties and Responsibilities Maintains and reports product conformance to specifications through inspection of raw material, work in process and finished goods inventories Grows and isolates cultures of bacteria or other micro‑organisms in prescribed media to specifications Reports microbial results and recommends necessary corrective actions to members of management Audits and maintains incoming ingredient COAs Prepares COAs for finished products, and communicates with customers Recommends and implements new testing equipment, media, and supplies Responsible for the ordering, inventory, and maintenance of all micro lab equipment and supplies Performs and reports testing on environmental swabs and air plates Authorizes the release of product as microbial results are obtained within specification Plans and organizes incoming samples and testing Responsible for following food quality and safety guidelines Performs other related duties as assigned Certified operator for waste water system and maintain water sampling and test results Skills Oral Communication Skills Written Communication Skills Customer Relations Aseptic Techniques Diplomacy Organization Planning Project Management Professionalism Time Management #J-18808-Ljbffr
