About the Role The Human Resources Business Partner is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talentteam and will be responsible for implementing Human Capital & Talent strategies in actionable deliverables within practice offices or global functions, while championing colleague well-being and enabling a work environment that is equitable and offers fair treatment, transparency, inclusiveness, personal accountability, trust, and mutual respect. This role will be located in our Global Services Office, located in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include:Implementing Human Capital & Talent strategies inclusive of engagement strategies, optimized performance, and professional developmentManaging people-related projects, programs, and processes to ensure compliance and completionSupporting department leadership with performance optimization efforts, including talent development and acquisition, resource management, and colleague training programsServing as a trusted advisor to office leadership and colleagues by providing advice and guidance across all human resources topics, inclusive of employee relations and policy adherencePromoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workersProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWe’d love to hear from you if you:Possess comprehensive knowledge of human resources functionsDemonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a best-in-class customer-service focusDisplay effective communication skills, both written and verbalKnowledge of local employment law, practices, and ability to understand and translate firm policies for all colleaguesKnowledge of HRIS systems, preferably PeopleSoftAbility to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them, and implement solutionsDemonstrated leadership and project management skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making)Expert knowledge of PC applications, including the Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)Experience advising, guiding, and supporting key stakeholders within a global matrixed organization Experience in coordinating and managing complex employee relations mattersAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretionAnd have:A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeA minimum of four (4) years of relevant experienceTwo (2) years of additional relevant experience, preferablyExperience advising, guiding, and supporting key stakeholders within a global matrixed organization, preferablyExperience in coordinating and managing complex employee relations matters, preferably Benefits & Additional Information Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
