Role: Linux & Storage Engineer – Trading
Client: FinTech
Compensation: $150,000 - $300,000 + Bonus
Location: New York

Overview

My client are seeking a Linux Compute and Storage Engineer to join their team.

You will predominantly work on complex low latency Linux compute systems.

The Role

Compute & Storage: Designing, building and deploying compute and storage solutions.

Linux Estate: Managing and monitoring a large-scale Linux environment.

Project Work: Working extensively on projects related to compute and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Compute Solutions: Design, build and deploy compute infrastructure.
Storage Solutions: Managing petabyte-scale storage systems including GPFS, NFS, Weka.
Linux Management: Monitoring and maintaining Linux systems.
Observability: Using tools such as ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana to monitor systems.
CI/CD: Working within CI/CD and Agile practices.
Programming: Using Python, Go, or Rust for automation and development.

Requirements

Linux: Strong Linux experience.
Configuration Management: Experience with Chef or Ansible.
Storage Systems: Experience with GPFS, NFS, Weka.
Programming: Some experience with Python, Go, or Rust.
Observability: Familiarity with ELK, Prometheus, Grafana.
Agile / CI/CD: Experience with Agile and CI/CD practices.
Education: Degree in relevant subject highly desirable.
