Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Surgical Unit (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 weeks, up to 26 weeks upon request) | Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 hours per week guaranteed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical patients including urology, orthopedic, general surgery, and medical overflow populations
• Develop nursing diagnoses, establish care objectives, and define individualized nursing interventions
• Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills
• Monitor and respond to changing patient conditions, re-evaluating care objectives as needed; willingness to take on charge nurse responsibilities is required
• Float as needed within Med-Surg and Progressive care areas per unit guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Missouri
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Medical-Surgical or post-surgical nursing role
• Post-surgical experience required (post-recovery, not OR-based)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Flu vaccination required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 (exemptions must be client-approved)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with peri-dialysis patients
• Familiarity with IV pumps and customary surgical unit equipment
• Strong team-player mentality with excellent communication skills
