Ultrasound Technologist, Radiology

Job Summary The Ultrasound Technologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for conducting high-quality and cost-effective diagnostic procedures, providing assistance during medical procedures, offering excellent customer service, and ensuring effective communication with patients, family members, physicians, medical staff, and colleagues. They are required to attend in-services, annual reviews, and educational programs while staying knowledgeable about radiological examination procedures, equipment, and relevant changes in the field. Job Functions Performs high quality/cost effective diagnostic procedures. Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required. Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner. Communicates effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, medical staff, and NMMC staff members. Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs. Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations. Stays abreast of changes in Radiology. Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes. Organizes work flow to prevent delays and control cost through appropriate use of supplies. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Associate's Degree Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound Technology (Required) Licenses and Certifications: ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Registered by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Required) ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Preferred Licensed Radiologic Technologist. Licensed by the State of Mississippi (MRT). Preferred CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation. American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification (Required) Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work independently to assure quality. Good written and verbal communication (Required). Serves patient population categories of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Organizes workflow to prevent patient delays. Works well with ordering Physicians to assure accurate information provided. Assists fellow team members as needed to provide high quality patient care. Performs with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times. Detail oriented. Has extensive contact with Physicians, co-workers, patients/family members. Reflects a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public served. Works well under pressure while providing a high level of care.
