Premier Customs Entry Writer (Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Customs Entry Agent – We have an immediate opportunity for a qualified Customs Entry Agent. The role ensures compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported products, processes separate entries to Customs Border Patrol (US Customs), computes tariffs, price conversions, examines documents to obtain release of incoming freight, and resolves delays. Key Responsibilities Participate in planning and directing flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations Effectively classify dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency regulations Process all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries Communicate with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and special handling and delivery processes Apply for Import/Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility Maintain open line of communication with Department of Foreign Affairs Receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence Examine online commercial invoices and other documents, determining correct Harmonized Tariff Code for each commodity to ensure correct classification Possess knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding Foreign Trade Agreements and other duty exemptions Be detail oriented, organized, and possess time management skills Process shipments through various online portals for submission to FDA and US Customs to obtain proper clearance Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate's degree preferred) 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database and web‑based applications Good oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; courteous and clear telephone voice Proficiency on a 10‑key calculator Overtime is required Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, including passing a criminal history records check, fingerprinting, and meeting all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
