Speech-Language Pathologist (Starting Date: 08/11/2026) Location: Lenoir County Public Schools, Exceptional Children’s Department – Kinston, North Carolina. Job Details Job ID: 4824972 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Overview Assist students with special communicative needs to maximize their communication potential, focusing on articulation, language, voice, and fluency deficits. Coordinate services with educational staff and families, managing Medicaid billing for eligible students. Responsibilities Organize the school program, cooperate with other services, and maintain records according to established rules, regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain Medicaid billing profiles and therapy notes for all eligible students. Conduct screening and testing, obtain diagnostic data, and make recommendations regarding programs and services. Supervise speech-language assistants and clinical fellows pursuing ASHA certification. Develop individual education plans (IEPs) for each eligible child in collaboration with teachers, parents, LEA representatives, and other professionals. Plan therapy and use appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques to support the curriculum. Manage time, facilities, and resources to facilitate delivery of services. Promote effective interpersonal relations and engage in continuing professional growth. Provide consultation, seek assistance from others, use related research, and make recommendations and referrals for implementation of services. Qualifications Must hold a master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. Must be licensed by the NC Department of Public Instruction (G License). A license from the Board of Examiners for Speech‑Language Pathologists and Audiologists is also acceptable. Requirements At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Master degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
