Equipment Delivery Driver

Job Description
Purpose:

Operates vehicles to transport equipment for dealership. May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick-up new equipment from a John Deere factory

Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed

Maintains activity records and obtains necessary signatures and receipts

Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy

Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties

May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required

May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge

Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities

Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion

Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products

Experience and Skills
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

CDL A License Required

Clean Driving Record Required

Minimum 1-year experience as semi-trailer truck operator, hauling heavy equipment

Ability to work independently and exercise excellent judgment to reflect the company's values

Dependability and consistency is a must

Familiar with pallet jack and forklift

Working Conditions & Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Workshop and outside setting

Repetitive bending and/or kneeling

Must be able to lift 75-pounds

Travel as needed
