Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to oversee overnight operations at a pharmacy. The primary responsibilities include handling compounding, verifying orders, and managing automated dispensing cabinets. The pharmacist will act as the "boss of the night," supervising a pharmacy technician, and ensuring procedures are followed across critical clinical units including Med-Surg, Telemetry, Adult ICU, PICU, and NICU.

Responsibilities / Job Duties

• Handle full-time overnight pharmacist responsibilities, including compounding and verifying orders.
• Supervise the pharmacy technician on shift, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring procedural compliance.
• Cover critical clinical units such as Med-Surg, Telemetry, Adult ICU, PICU, and NICU.
• Manage Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets and utilize the Pharmacy Keeper quality control system.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements

Education

• PharmD with an active California Pharmacist License.

Qualifications

• Inpatient hospital experience is required. Outpatient hospital, MTM, ambulatory care, or retail-only experience will not be considered.
• Must be comfortable working independently during night shifts, specifically from 12 AM to 6 AM.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech / Expanse EMR systems.
• Familiarity with Omnicell automated cabinets.
• Experience using Pharmacy Keeper / MedKeeper quality systems.
• Previous experience in NICU/PICU or working solo on graveyard shifts.

Schedule / Shift

10-hour shifts from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM on an overnight/graveyard schedule. Duties include a solo operation window from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

• Standard rotation is preferred, with either 4 days on/4 days off or 4 days on/3 days off rotations.
• Work weeks consist of 40 hours.
