Additional Information About the Role Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Emergency Room PRN, 2‑12 hour shifts per 6‑week schedule One holiday per year rotating winter/summer Prior ED experience required Not a designated trauma center Level 1 for STEMIs Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offering a full continuum of medical and surgical services. The hospital operates a 24‑hour adult emergency department and a pediatric emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The emergency department treats more than 30,000 cases per year and features 20 private treatment rooms along with a four‑bed Chest Pain Center, a collaboration between the Cardiac & Vascular Center and the Emergency Department. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment; educates patients and families on illness or injury management, post-treatment home care needs, and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family, or caregiver, ensuring communication across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, including patient preferences, barriers, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely, as required for this safety‑sensitive position.
