Logistics Technician

Logistics Technician Job Description The Distribution Technician works independently to support patient care through the receipt, storage, and distribution, inventory management and procurement of medical surgical supplies and patient care equipment. The position performs physical inventory, data entry, receives supplies, replenishes stock par levels, responds to requests, procures non-stock supplies, specialty equipment, fills individual equipment requests, exchanges supply carts, collects patient charges, completes periodic inventories and maintains a clean and safe workplace. This role may assist with patient care sterile equipment cleaning as needed and completes other duties as assigned. The technician supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement, and demonstrating teamwork and cooperation. Minimum Qualifications High School degree or equivalent. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one-year experience with Central Service, Materials Management or a healthcare related field (hospital storeroom and data entry experience preferred). Must read, write and speak English fluently. Performance Expectations Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies and exhibits the core behavioral competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Work Environment Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, hazardous substances, and injury. The position requires extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling weights in excess of 90 pounds with assistance, as well as weights 30-90 lbs or greater a majority of the time.
