Job Description

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing nutritional care individually and as part of an interdisciplinary outpatient care team. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for educating patients, family, professional staff and students/interns. The Registered Dietitian works under the general direction and is responsible to the Nutrition Department Outpatient Team Lead position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - Registered Dietitian

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
• Registered Dietitian (RD)
• Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Arkansas
• Completion of a dietetic internship
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Interviewing candidates with all levels of experience - Nutrition, LD & RD

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical experience
• Registered Dietitian and Licensed by the State of Arkansas preferred

Registered Dietitian II

• RD, LD
• 1-year clinical experience

Registered Dietitian III

• Master's degree required or Specialty Certification required
• Precepts dietetic interns in the UAMS internship program
• 2+ years' experience

Registered Dietitian IV

• 4 + years' experience
• Masters required
• Specialty Certification required

Responsibilities

Assessing the nutritional needs of the patient and making recommendations to meet those needs.

Documentation in the electronic medical record.

Education of family, students and other professional staff.

Teaching, discussing with medical staff and other caregivers the patient needs.

Clerical and office duties.

Presentations outside the hospital as required.

Other duties as assigned.
