Accountant

A well‑established company in the oil & gas industry is seeking an Accountant to support a centralized accounting function across multiple entities. This role offers hands‑on exposure to accounts receivable, month‑end close, and reporting, and is well‑suited for a professional looking to grow within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Salary + Additional Benefits: $70,000-$75,000 + Bonus Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance 401K - company match Location: Houston, TX 77010 Type of Position: Direct Hire Responsibilities: Prepare monthly journal entries and GL account analysis for specific accounts. Post cash (both A/R and miscellaneous) and balance daily. Reconcile the A/R sub‑ledger to the general ledger. Perform weekly upload of intercompany transactions in Oracle. Prepare sales tax reports. File and initiate sales tax payments electronically. Maintain the commercial card program. Maintain and update listing of customers to receive yearly updates to the companies liability insurance. Prepare various monthly account analyses. Verify and prepare annual 1099s for vendors. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required 1-3 years of professional accounting experience (internship experience considered) Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits Experience preparing journal entries and identifying discrepancies Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) ERP system experience preferred (Oracle a plus, but not required) Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment and manage shifting priorities #J-18808-Ljbffr Murray Resources
