We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support and secure a large enterprise network environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical infrastructure, systems, and data through the implementation and support of enterprise-level network security technologies and best practices.


The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with enterprise firewall technologies, secure network architecture, VPN solutions, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and network monitoring tools. This individual will work closely with infrastructure, server, application, and compliance teams to proactively identify vulnerabilities, mitigate security risks, support regulatory compliance initiatives, and respond to security incidents.


This is a highly collaborative, onsite position requiring strong communication skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and current hands-on experience in enterprise network security environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and support enterprise network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and network access control technologies
• Monitor and analyze network activity, security events, and system performance to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and unauthorized activity
• Configure and maintain secure LAN/WAN infrastructure utilizing routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, ACLs, and segmentation technologies
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation, and remediation activities across enterprise environments
• Utilize packet captures, logs, SNMP, NetFlow, and security monitoring systems to troubleshoot and resolve complex network security issues
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, security standards, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans
• Support cybersecurity compliance initiatives and regulatory requirements related to infrastructure and data protection
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and suspicious activity while recommending corrective actions
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and application teams to ensure secure implementation of enterprise technologies
• Maintain secure remote connectivity solutions and support business continuity initiatives
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Local to the Memphis, TN area and able to work onsite Monday through Friday
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field
  OR
  Bachelor's degree in another discipline with at least 12 hours of IT-related coursework
• Minimum of 5 years of recent hands-on experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise network security environments
• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience with:
  • Enterprise firewall technologies, preferably Palo Alto and/or Cisco
  • TCP/IP, WAN/LAN technologies, routing, switching, VLANs, and network segmentation
  • Site-to-site and remote access VPN technologies utilizing IPsec and SSL
  • IDS/IPS technologies
  • Network security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response
• Strong understanding of:
  • Network authentication technologies
  • Multifactor authentication
  • Access controls
  • Directory services
• Experience with packet analysis and network diagnostic tools
• Experience supporting wireless security and secure remote connectivity solutions
• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NetFlow, QoS, and enterprise monitoring solutions
• Must possess strong verbal communication skills and ability to clearly follow and communicate technical direction
• Must have reliable transportation to travel between local sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large enterprise or utility environments
• Experience developing security procedures and compliance documentation
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and data protection standards
• Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
