Welder - 1st Shift

Job Overview McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of refuse truck bodies, is looking for skilled welders to join our production team at Dodge Center, MN. Responsibilities Heat and form metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, plasma cutter, or other welding equipment. Properly position material and parts to be welded. Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place. Adjust welding current to proper weld configurations. Accurately operate and read measuring devices. Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and 6S standards. Follow all safe procedures in assembling and testing models/products in assigned job functions. Minimum Qualifications Passed weld test through pre‑employment or internal weld program. Ability to start and run a welder. Effectively perform job tasks within one station with minimal quality defects or guidance. Willingness to learn and adapt welding techniques. High school diploma or GED (not required). 6 months of applicable position experience. Understanding of quality defects within weld‑on products. Ability to read and use measuring devices. Desired (Standout) Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience with plasma and carbon‑arc welding. Advanced knowledge of quality inspection and defect identification.
