Upland, CA 3 Months with a high possibility of extension M-F 8am-4:30pm
This position requires a California-licensed pharmacy technician working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The technician will be responsible for the packaging, preparation, and sterile compounding of intravenous medications as well as injectable medications, including chemotherapy and other biohazardous drugs. All duties must be performed in accordance with USP and institutional protocols and safety guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
At least 1 year of performing related duties as a pharmacy technician. Need candidates with hospital experience, not retail experience. Licensed pharmacy technician license in good standing with California Board of Pharmacy Experience with sterile compounding
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent or Post High School vocational/specialized training or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy

The technician may spend 5-6 hours a day performing compounding duties in a sterile environment, which requires specific garbing and cleanroom etiquette. The technician should be advised that he or she will be working with hazardous medications under the protection of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. gowns, masks, gloves, etc.) per institution protocol.
