Senior Accountant – Equity & SEC Reporting North Suburbs of Chicago | HybridDo you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below.A large, global manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a Senior Accountant to own equity accounting and support SEC reporting within its corporate accounting team.It's a specialized, technical seat, a good fit for an accountant who wants deeper work than a typical generalist role: stock-based compensation, EPS, noncontrolling interests, and complex accounting research.What You'll Do:Prepare journal entries for equity transactions and reconcile equity and other assigned accountsCalculate quarterly stock-based compensation expense, income attributable to noncontrolling interests, and earnings per sharePrepare assigned financial statement footnotes and sections of SEC filings, along with supporting filesResearch complex transactions, including complex equity awards, and draft technical accounting memosSupport review of accounting areas involving significant management judgments and estimatesContribute to process improvement and internal controls projects across financial reportingSupport system integrations and new business initiatives that affect the financial statementsPartner with corporate accounting, consolidations, tax, and audit teams on technical and reporting mattersHandle ad hoc reporting and requests for tax, audit, and other stakeholdersWhat We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; Master's in Accounting strongly preferredCPA strongly preferred2–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in technical accounting or external reportingPublic company SEC reporting experience, or Big 4 experience with public clientsStrong GAAP knowledge and ability to research complex accounting issuesAdvanced Excel (PowerPivot, xhyhwjd Power Query, index/match, pivot tables, modeling) and comfort with large data setsExperience with equity accounting, stock compensation, or EPS a strong plusSOX 404 and consolidation system (Oracle EPM, BPC) experience a plusWhy This Role Stands Out: Specialized technical seat in equity accounting, which is rare at this level Direct SEC reporting and technical research experience Visible projects tied to growth and transformation Large, growing global company with strong development and continuing education support Hybrid flexibility in the North Suburbs of Chicago
