Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Location: NE Portland, OR Compensation: $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience Take ownership of key accounting functions while building experience in fund accounting, grant reporting, audits, and compliance. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Strong focus on core accounting operations Meaningful ownership of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes Exposure to government and school fund accounting Opportunity to support audits, grant reporting, and compliance initiatives Diverse responsibilities with visibility across the organization What You’ll Do Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, including invoice processing, collections, deposits, allocations, and P‑card reconciliations Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records Perform bank and account reconciliations Support month‑end close processes and reporting activities Monitor daily cash activity, transfers, and outstanding transactions Assist with audits, grant reporting, and compliance requirements Provide administrative and accounting support to the finance team as needed What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field Two or more years of hands‑on accounting experience Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and journal entries Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Government, school district, nonprofit, or fund accounting experience Exposure to grant reporting Experience supporting audits #J-18808-Ljbffr CFS
