Position Summary The Category Advisor is responsible for providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to support category growth and improve the overall customer experience at Walmart. This role serves as a trusted partner to Walmart merchants, leveraging shopper insights, category analytics, and industry best practices to influence assortment, shelving, pricing, and promotional strategies. The Category Advisor collaborates cross-functionally with internal sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to develop fact-based category plans that align with Walmart’s goals and policies. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, deep understanding of Walmart systems and processes, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive mutual growth. You Bring (requirements, Preferred Skills) Bachelor’s Degree 3+ years Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience, including 3+ years in Category Management Actual modular drawing experience (JDA/Blue Yonder) required Scintilla Charter expertise required Strong understanding of Walmart’s modular process. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel required; working knowledge of PowerPoint is required, working knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus. Ability to analyze complex, unstructured data sets, extract meaningful insights, and communicate findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Exceptional interpersonal and persuasive communication skills to influence decision-making. Experience with shopper insight platforms preferred Expertise in collaborative teamwork and strategic, innovative problem-solving.
