Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift | 12-Hour Nights | Every Other Weekend and Major Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions for obstetrical patients across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological settings
• Administer medications safely, including magnesium sulfate, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including care management, transfer centers, and pharmacy
• Perform fetal heart monitoring, conduct vaginal exams, and provide resuscitation and stabilization of the mother/fetal dyad
• Circulate and assist in cesarean sections and scrub/assist in deliveries as required
• Provide triage, prioritization, assessment, education, stabilization, and emergency management for patients of varying acuity, including those with language barriers, substance use, and chronic conditions affecting pregnancy
• May be required to float within the New Life Center or to other Labor & Delivery units within the region

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Virginia or valid compact license
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience, including antepartum, intrapartum, cesarean section, postpartum, and magnesium sulfate administration
• Hospital-based clinical experience required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience with C-EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record and Perinatal Centricity (QS) preferred
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification preferred
• Ability to scrub and assist in deliveries preferred
