CT Technologist
A leading healthcare organization in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join their diagnostic imaging department on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced professionals and those looking to advance their career in medical imaging technology. The successful candidate will operate computed tomography equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced medical environment where precision and patient care are paramount. The position commences September 27, 2026, for a 90-day duration with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs.
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating state-of-the-art computed tomography scanning equipment to produce accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation. You will prepare patients for CT procedures by explaining the imaging process, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have. Your primary duties include positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical parameters, administering contrast media when necessary, and monitoring patients throughout procedures. You will maintain detailed patient records and imaging documentation while ensuring all data is entered accurately into the electronic health information system. Quality assurance is critical; you'll monitor image quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic standards are consistently met. You must adhere to all radiation safety protocols, including proper shielding techniques and dose optimization to minimize patient exposure while maintaining diagnostic quality. Your responsibilities extend to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting minor technical issues, reporting significant equipment problems to the appropriate department, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and clarify imaging protocols. Additionally, you'll follow all facility policies, infection control procedures, and emergency protocols while maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
You must hold current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in CT. This certification demonstrates your competency in computed tomography technology and is non-negotiable for this position. You must be available to work onsite at the Hartford, Connecticut location beginning September 27, 2026. Minimum two years of professional CT technologist experience in a clinical healthcare setting is required. You should demonstrate proficiency in operating various CT scanners and familiarity with both conventional and advanced imaging protocols. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to CT imaging is essential. Excellent communication skills are required, as you'll interact regularly with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. You must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Patient care skills and the ability to work with diverse populations is crucial. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and position patients safely, and manage the physical demands of the role. You must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as determined by the facility. Current CPR certification is preferred and may be required depending on facility protocols.
This contract position offers competitive compensation at $70 per hour. The position provides valuable experience in a professional healthcare environment and the opportunity to expand your skills with modern diagnostic imaging technology. Working in this setting allows you to contribute directly to patient care and diagnostic outcomes. The organization offers a supportive work environment where professional development is encouraged. You'll have access to continuing education opportunities and the chance to network with experienced radiologists and imaging professionals. Onsite work means consistent scheduling and the ability to build relationships with your team.
