The Diesel Technician services and maintains heavy trucks in a fleet maintenance shop and field-service environment. Reporting to the Shop Manager, this role performs diagnostics, preventive maintenance, fuel system service, and parts replacement, with on-call roadside support responsibilities and an advancement path toward Diagnostic Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose diesel engine and equipment issues on heavy trucks.
- Perform preventive maintenance to support fleet reliability.
- Service and repair fuel systems.
- Replace worn or defective parts.
- Provide field service and on-call roadside support.
- Support fleet maintenance operations under the direction of the Shop Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of diesel equipment maintenance experience.
- Completion of a diesel technology or automotive service program.
- Experience with diesel engine diagnostics.
- Knowledge of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
