Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed Progressive Cardiac Care Unit at the PCU and medical-surgical transition levels of care
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 for PCU-level patients and 1:6 for medical-surgical transition-level patients
• Perform unit procedures including Foley and nasogastric tube insertions, wound care, and continuous monitoring using VS machines, EKG, bladder scanning, glucometers, and pulse oximetry
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Float within scope of practice as needed; no on-call requirement
• Support a unit actively upskilling staff to manage PCU-level patients as the facility's designated trauma PCU

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure valid for practice in Texas
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PCCN, TNCC, or TCAR certification
• Experience in ICU or PCU level of care
• Precepting experience
• Flexible, adaptable, quick learner with a positive attitude
