Software Engineer in Test II

Overview Software Engineer in Testing II responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and tools. The role involves working on more advanced projects, mentoring less experienced team members, and applying software engineering principles. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and libraries; implement and maintain medium-complexity automated test cases and simple framework features. Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to debug medium-complexity automation scripts; independently create new tools or features in the framework. Support performance testing by implementing medium-complexity performance test scripts and providing comprehensive test results reports. Define and enforce automation standards and best practices; review automation scripts for adherence and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure the framework meets testing needs for small-to-medium teams. Create, monitor, and analyze test results with medium-complexity analysis of findings. Provide training and mentorship on using the automation framework and writing simple automation tests. Qualifications Education Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Minimum: 3+ years industry experience, independently implementing simple automation framework/tools. Preferred 3+ years of experience with Java or Python; 3+ years of experience with white-box testing. Knowledge and Skills Framework design and development; ability to design and implement modular, configurable, reusable, fast, secure, and maintainable automation frameworks. Develop testing tools and utilities; integrate tools and technologies into the automation framework. Technologies; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure); DevSecOps practices. CI/CD; experience with Jenkins, GitHub; integrating automated tests into the build process. Performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner). Documentation; proficiency in documenting framework architecture, usage, and bug reports. Requirements analysis; translating system requirements into testing approaches. Collaboration and communication; clear verbal and written communication for project challenges. Mentorship; ability to train and lead junior team members in automation practices. Time management and multi-tasking; ability to manage multiple testing projects and deadlines. Product knowledge; align testing with business objectives.
