Sr Tax Accountant

Senior Tax AssociateThe Senior Tax Associate will work closely with the team members, managers, and tax directors in the preparation of, and research and planning for, federal and state, corporate and partnership tax returns, quarterly estimated payments, and the Corporate tax provision. This role will provide the opportunity to leverage technology and AI tools to drive efficiency, accuracy, and strategic planning, and assist with company-wide transformation efforts. Additionally, this position will gain tax research and planning experience working on various tax projects and assist with IRS and state audit defense.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with the preparation of the federal consolidated tax returnParticipate in the implementation and optimization of tax technology platforms and AI-driven solutionsFocus on ongoing transformation efforts in connection with corporate and division initiativesPrepare federal and state partnership and LLC tax returnsPrepare and review multistate income and franchise tax returns (combined/unitary as well as separate state income tax returns)Assist with the preparation and review of the Company's consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provision calculationsAssist with IRS and state tax authority auditsAssist with the preparation and review of quarterly estimated income tax paymentsPerform tax research and analysis on special projects as neededIdentify and implement federal and state tax planning opportunitiesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of diverse US federal and state & local tax legislation and US GAAP financial statement reporting requirements for taxes (ASC 740)Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in AccountingCPA (or CPA candidate) preferred, not required.One to four years of federal and state income tax compliance experience obtained in a public accounting or corporate environment.Physical Requirements:This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the Senior Tax Associate to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.Additional Requirements:Hands on, detail oriented individual, strong tax compliance and problem-solving skills, including account reconciliation and analysis of book/tax differences. Strong work-ethic and sense of responsibility.Self-motivated. Value-added focus. Proactive and efficient. Team player that works well with others.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint required), tax research software, and tax compliance software.
