Test Engineering ManagerEaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Test Engineering Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA.This position is responsible for leading the test function in achieving business and financial goals by leading, developing, executing, and maintaining robust testing and assembly processes. This role is also responsible for portions of design, development, fabrication, validation, installation, support and troubleshooting of production test equipment and programs.The expected annual salary range for this role is $113,000 - $165,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What You'll Do:Develop test equipment specifications ensuring compliance with electrical safe work practices, hazard identification / remediation, and OSHA requirements in support of zero incident safety culture (ZISC). Identify potential safety hazards and provides input into the remediation process, ensuring equipment functionality meets required specificationsProvide guidelines for designing, selecting, supporting, servicing, and troubleshooting of test equipment and electrical systems, testing protocols, test data collection and best practicesLead testing function and associated functional needs to support customer expectations, financial performance, and key operational performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory)Coach, mentor, and guide electrical test employees to achieve personal, career, and professional goals utilizing the Eaton Leadership Model, talent selection process, employee listening processes, performance development tools and other managerial methodsUtilize continuous improvement framework (CIF), cost out, kaizen, business process improvement, rapid improvement event structured problem solving, and other methods to create a lean culture and increase operational performance.Align cross-functional resources, schedules, projects and other programs with facility needs among production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, environment, health and safety to achieve unified plant goalsOther duties as assignedThis Role Could Be The Next Step In Your Career If You Demonstrate The Following Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering (any discipline) form an accredited institutionMinimum of (5) years experience in electrical or controls engineering, design, troubleshooting, and/or testingMinimum of (2) year experience in a management position or leadership roleYou Will Set Yourself Apart By Demonstrating Some Or All Of The Following:7 years' experience in electrical or controls engineering, design, troubleshooting, and/or testingExperience in electrical testing procedures and protocolsExperience with lock out / tag out (LOTO) with focus in electricalExperience supporting engineer to order (ETO) manufacturingGreen Belt or Black Belt certifiedKeys To Role Success:Ability to assist manufacturing operations and product designers/engineering personnel to resolve electrical design and build production issues.Ability to interpret, suggest and resolve equipment or installation issues with multiple and varied electrical contractors.Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations and standards and implement Electrical Safe Work practices such as NFPA 70E.Demonstrated ability to interpret and troubleshoot electrical control, protection, instrumentation, and metering schematics and wiring diagramsProven analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through othersEffective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skillsAbility to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focusAbility to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive teamWe Will Not Consider Candidates Who:Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
