With opportunities across locations and functions, a culture grounded in our Core Four values - gratitude, communication, respect and accountability - and a strong commitment to learning, collaboration, and innovation, Smithfield offers challenging and rewarding careers where you can grow, contribute and make a real impact.Job DescriptionOur team members receive industry-leading wages and are eligible for great benefits packages:Competitive Starting Pay - $25.48$1.00/hr Shift Differential for 2nd ShiftComprehensive Health Insurance, Retirement Benefits and MoreIn addition, we offer opportunities for career growth, professional development, and tuition assistance.Core ResponsibilitiesManage the repair of MHE, including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting and repairs and preventative maintenanceConduct installation and repairs on electrical and lighting issues, dock doors, and dock platesConduct preventive maintenance (PM's) within manufacturer's guidelines/specifications and established timelines to include oil changes, filter changes, calibration of equipment, belts changes, inspections, adjustments, lubrication, etc.Responsible for logging time and materials into computerized maintenance management systemRequired to interpret and understand plans and specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manualsOther duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1+ years of related experience and/or training in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment or 4 years' direct experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment.Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma or associate's degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school, a plus.Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift.Can understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to read, write the following: work orders, instructions, daily reports and machine manuals.Ability to receive and relate orders/information using various communication devices.Work Environment & Physical DemandsYou will be constantly standing, walking, riding, carrying, twisting, bending, balancing, seeing, hearing, and handling paperwork.
