Housekeeping Supervisor

The Study at University of Chicago is currently seeking a highly organized and meticulous Housekeeping Supervisor to supervise and mentor our housekeeping team members. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our room, laundry, and public area operations. In partnership with the Housekeeping Manager, ensure that we deliver a comfortable and clean guest experience and align with Study brand standards. Pay rate: $28/HR Responsibilities Be an integral part of housekeeping operations, including supervising room attendants’ boards, inspecting all public areas, managing the in-house laundry team, maintaining proper inventory levels, and responding to guest inquiries. Be able to clean guest rooms when needed. Inspect all areas of responsibility daily, maintaining the highest standards of quality. This includes public areas, guest rooms, storage areas, restrooms, and linen areas. Supervise, mentor, and engage all housekeeping team members, set clear expectations, and establish accountability in a team setting. Create and support a positive working environment that promotes curiosity, teamwork, and growth. Utilize industry best practices to maintain the highest quality standards in training, performance, and procedures. Implement cleaning and preventative maintenance programs to ensure the appearance and longevity of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Provide the highest and most efficient level of hospitality service expected by our guests. Train and develop staff to be personable and professional in all settings, and provide a thoughtful guest experience. Review department schedules, ensure the property is staffed sufficiently to handle anticipated business, and assist where needed. Work with all departments to meet their housekeeping needs. Address guest concerns, listen, and extend assistance to resolve matters and deliver a thoughtful and enjoyable guest experience. Resolve complaints in person, by phone, or in writing. Develop relationships with returning guests and group contacts. Perform other duties as required and assigned. The statements above may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results. Open and close the housekeeping department by preparing room attendants’ daily assigned boards. Ensure all team members are in uniform and wearing proper shoes. $28.00 per hour, DOE. Fundamentals Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience: Two (2) or more years of housekeeping experience in a full-service hotel. Currently employed in a hospitality role. Industry experience strongly desired. Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times. Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, including follow‑up, time management, ability to multi‑task and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in English required. Ability to grasp, lift and or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, and walk in intervals for a full 8+ hour shift, indoors with a thematically climate‑controlled workstation and for outdoor rounds. Ability to make property rounds in all non‑extreme weather conditions. Study Hotels is a drug‑free workplace. Pre‑employment drug test and background check required.
