Substitute Custodian

Directly responsible to the Supervisor or Lead Custodian and, through him/her, to the District Facilities Manager and the Business Administrator. The Substitute Custodian will provide students with a safe, clean environment for education. Performance of Duties: Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times. Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture. Clean corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it. Scrub and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily. Keep the grounds free from rubbish. To shovel, plow, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as appropriate. Check regularly to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy. Maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation. Clean all chalkboards. Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal. To comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
