About the Role: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high‑quality nursing care within an assisted living facility or similar healthcare setting. This position focuses on providing direct patient care, including wound management, pain control, and performing venipuncture, ensuring patients’ comfort and safety. The LPN will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about health conditions and care plans, promoting better health outcomes. Collaboration with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare professionals is essential to coordinate care and implement treatment plans effectively. Ultimately, the LPN contributes to maintaining a supportive and healing environment that enhances the quality of life for all residents under their care. Minimum Qualifications: Valid and current Nursing License (LPN) in the Alabama. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams. Demonstrated experience in wound care and pain management. Ability to perform venipuncture safely and competently. Experience working in an assisted living facility or similar healthcare environment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous collaboration experience with Nurse Practitioners or advanced practice providers. Additional certifications in wound care or pain management. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Continuing education in patient education techniques or geriatric nursing. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily living activities. Perform wound care management, including assessment, cleaning, dressing changes, and documentation. Conduct venipuncture procedures safely and accurately for laboratory testing and other medical needs. Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post‑treatment care instructions. Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies. Manage pain effectively through assessment, intervention, and documentation to improve patient comfort. Ensure compliance with all nursing licenses, facility protocols, and healthcare regulations. Skills: The required skills such as wound care, patient education, and venipuncture are applied daily to ensure patients receive thorough and compassionate care tailored to their individual needs. Proficiency in English enables clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members, which is essential for effective education and coordination. The nursing license validates the candidate’s professional qualifications and adherence to regulatory standards, ensuring safe and ethical practice. Pain management skills are critical for assessing patient discomfort and implementing appropriate interventions to enhance patient well‑being.
