About the Role As a Medical Assistant, you'll be a vital part of the patient experience from the moment they walk through the door until they leave with clear instructions and confident care. You'll work in a collaborative, high-volume urgent care environment where your skills and compassion make an immediate impact every day. What You'll Do Welcome and room patients, obtain accurate histories, and record vital signs Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, testing, and treatments Perform CLIA-waived lab testing, collect and process specimens, and maintain quality control Administer medications, injections, and vaccines under provider supervision Conduct EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other diagnostic support tasks Draw blood for lab testing as ordered Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely Prepare and maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms Support efficient patient flow in a fast-paced environment Perform drug screenings and provide patient education and discharge instructions Collaborate with providers and teammates to deliver seamless care Follow all infection control, safety, and compliance standards What You Bring Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical training Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or other fast-paced settings (preferred) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to stay calm, focused, and effective under pressure Excellent communication and a compassionate, patient-first mindset A positive, dependable, team-oriented attitude Why You'll Love Working With Us At AFC Urgent Care, you'll find a place where your clinical expertise is valued, your compassion is essential, and your team truly has your back.
